Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel

Mainly used as an Active medicament in an Antacid Formulations, also used in manufacturing of Lake Colors, Inks, glass, effluent treatment, and fire retardants.

• Description : A White Odourless, tasteless, Amorphous powder containing some aggregates
• Solubility : Practically insoluble in water and in ethanol. It dissolves in dilute mineral acids and in solutions of alkali hydroxides.
• Identification :
  1) Aluminium Salts - Gives +ve test
  2) Colour - Intense Purple colour is produced
  3) Colour - Reddish Violet colour is produced
• Neutralizing Capacity : NMT 35.0ml Of 0.1N NaOH
• Appearance of Solution : Solution is not more opalescent and not more intensely coloured than reference solution
• Alkaline impurities : NMT 0.3ml of 0.1M HCL is required
• Chloride : Maximum 1.0%
• Sulphate : Maximum 1.0%
• Arsenic : Maximum 4 ppm
• Heavy Metals : Maximum 60 ppm
• ASSAY Al₂O₃ : 47.0% to 60.0%
• pH : NMT 10 of 4% W/V suspension
• Microbiology :
  1) TAMC - NMT 103 CFU/g
  2) TYMC - NMT 102 CFU/g
  3) bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria - Absence
  4) E. Coli - Absence
