Magnesium Stearate

  • Description : A white very fine, light white powder, odourless or with a very faint odour of stearic acid; unctuous and free from grittiness Greasy To Touch.
  • Solubility : Practically Insoluble In Water And Anhydrous Ethanol
  • Freezing Point : Minimum 53°C
  • Acid Value of Fatty Acid : 195 to 210
  • Fatty Acid Composition : Retention Time of Test & Reference solution in Chromagram should be same.
  • Magnesium Test : Gives reaction of Magnesium
  • Chromatogram Test : Retention time of test solution corresponds to standard solution for relative content of Stearic and Palmitic acid.
  • Appearance of Solution : Not more intensely colored than reference sol.
  • Appearance of Solution of Fatty Acid : Not more intensely colored than reference sol.
  • Acidity or Alkalinity : Maximum 0.05 ml. of 0.1N HCl or NaOH
  • Chloride : Maximum 250
